Gênero: Melodic Death Metal Ano: 2001 País: Finlândia Comentário:Kalmah é uma banda finlandesa de death metal melódico (uau!! xD) formada em 1998 após o término do Ancestor. Seus integrantes uniram-se em 1993 com o propósito de tocar o puro metal extremo. A banda também incorpora elementos do power metal e speed metal, similarmente a outras bandas como Children of Bodom e Norther. Trago justamente o primeiro album da banda, que na minha opinião, é de longe o melhor.
Curiosidade: A palavra "Kalmah" está em Carélio, língua similar ao finlandês, e pode ser traduzido como "para o túmulo" ou "para a morte". Recomendadíssimo!

Comentário:Sombrio, melancólico e agressivo, essa é a definição que mais se aproxima do primeiro full desse ótimo projeto finlandês que conta com Mikko Heikkilä (Sinamore) - Guitarra e clean vocals, Mynni Luukkainen - Guitarra e dark vocals (Alghazanth, Empyrean Bane, Horna, Obscurant, Unveiled (Fin), Sotajumala, De Lirium's Order) e principalmente Tuomas Saukkonen - Lead/rhythm/acoustic guitar, bateria & percussão, baixo, teclados, dark vocals (Before the Dawn, Dawn of Solace, Bonegrinder, Rajavyöhyke, Jumalhämärä, The Final Harvest, Sinamore). Darkness Walks Beside Me possui uma atmosfera única, com seus riffs criativos e vocais muito bem dosados entre a melancolia e a agressividade gutural. Ótimo álbum para quem curte violência criativa (risos).
