Comentário: Peccatum foi fundada em 1998 por Ihsahn (Emperor, Thou Shalt Suffer), Ihriel (Star of Ash) e PZ (Source of Tide), e logo chamou a atenção de Candlelight Records (UK). O debut “Strangling from Within” (1999) rendeu a banda excursões pela Europa e América do Norte. O EP “Oh My Regrets” e o segundo de full-length “Amor Fati” (2000) foram apresentados no Mystic Art Festival (Poland, 2000) e no Inferno Festival (Noruega 2001). O terceiro de full length “Lost in Reverie” foi produzido por Mnemosyne Productions / Voices Music & Entertainment / The End Records em 2004.

Peccatum é por muitos considerada como uma das bandas mais promissoras emergindo do fenômeno que é o metal extremo norueguês. Executando o seu estilo musical híbrido, mesclando metal, música eletrônica, música contemporânea e sons ambientes. Com suas canções a banda traz uma aura de desolação e uma beleza melancólica sem igual, realmente estes noruegueses estão fazendo um lindo trabalho, vale muito a pena conferir.
